Character and charm

01/09/2015 E3243REchristinem,

This hotel has polite helpful staff, large spacious rooms and is full of the charm of an old coaching house. Yes it has a few creaking floor boards and sloping floors but this is to be expected of an... more

Owner Response
dpl343677, Owner at BEST WESTERN The Jersey Arms Hotel, responded to this review
A member of staff reported on Monday morning at breakfast that you had made some unkind comments to her, which she found very upsetting and another 2 guests upon leaving did comment on your poor behaviour in the breakfast room. I am absolutely Flabbergasted that 3 normal looking people would spend 3 whole days and nights in a "filthy hovel" but not only that, but to also to eat breakfast every morning. That is beyond the call of duty. This achievement must be worthy of some sort of award from those who would appreciate what you 3 have been through. I do know that any normal person who found "FILTHLY" conditions would have been gone upon arrival or certainly have checked out the next day! By the way, what would you call someone in Wellington Boots, covered in mud and walks in on carpeted stairs and corridors to go to his room without removing them at the back door on a Sunday afternoon? No - don't both answering, we know. Having been in the people business for 45 years I am very rarely surprised by anything, but I must say, that your nasty comments are up there with the worst.

Lovely hotel but creaky floors above woke me up
