We chose this place because of the connivence of being close to downtown Raleigh. The location of the hotel was the best part of our experience. When we were first greeted, the staff was pretty rude. We are both in customer service so we were very disappointed about the customer service from this hotel. There was no "southern hospitality"at this hotel. We check into our room and the room smells musky and damp. The pillows were the size of throw couch pillows. We asked for two more pillows, and the guy at the front desk said he would check and have the maid bring us some. We never received any pillows. We asked the next day, and they said they had no extra pillows. A little strange for a hotel not to have extra pillows. The breakfast buffet was nothing to rave about, everything was pretty bland. Everyday our key cards were unactivated, and we needed to go to the front desk to activate them. Which I still don't understand why that happened. We ended up checking out a day early and the guy at the front desk didn't even bother to ask why we were leaving earlier than our check out day. We stayed here because Expedia gave this hotel 4/5 stars. You get what you pay for for this hotel. Very disappointed in this hotel and the service. less
