We stayed here one night before going on our cruise as it was so close to the port but we wouldn’t do it again . . . Or recommend it to anyone. The staff were very nice but the place was disorganized. The key cards for our rooms & that of other patrons didn’t work leaving one person standing outside the room door with the luggage while the other went down to the desk. We had this problem each of the 4 times we left our room - I had heard other patrons complaining of the same problem while we were checking in so I know the incident was not isolated to our two rooms. Breakfast was barely edible & the coffee was terrible. We have stayed in many Best Westerns & have never seen anything like it before. I suspect the only thing keeping this hotel afloat is its proximity to the port at only 7 blocks away. My husband couldn’t believe this was a Best Western Plus as it was so poor. We are part of the loyalty program they have & hot this night for free from our built up points but somehow I still feel ripped off :( I’m saying if you have another alternative do yourself a favor & take it. The biggest plus was the location & you had a nice view of the USS Iowa as it was down the hill from the hotel. less

First, I want to thank you for your feedback. While I wish, you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve our service to our guests. Unfortunately, some issues, such as the key cards that were not working, are out of our control, however, an issue such as your not enjoying our breakfast, is in our control and I will work on improving the quality of the breakfast and coffee. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it’s apparent in this case, we fell short and for that, I do apologize.
