If one wants to stay in a modern hotel, this is pretty much your only option in Blanco. So, there are good and bad issues with this hotel First, the good. The grounds are beautiful with flower gardens, gazebo and lots of bushes. Clearly someone has a green thumb. The inside is also decorated nicely with lots of western art, and the place is very clean. So, on the appearances, it should get 5 stars.
But, beauty is only skin deep. The married couple working behind the desk must just be overworked. They seem to be there all the time, even babysit their daughter or granddaughter at the reception desk. My personal interaction with them was not a good experience. Maybe Our personalities clashed, but, still, act professional. I felt like the gentleman hovered over us at breakfast, and maybe if I went back for something,he might just confront me. Another gentleman took the eating utensils away 1/2 hour before the posted breakfast closing time. That is a pretty strong message to the patrons who came in and could not find the utensil tray. There is a pantry available by the front desk, but watch out, there are no prices listed. I bought two cokes at the price he stated, then as I went around the corner there was a vending machine with the exact product for .50 cents less per item than he charged me. I almost bought them and out of principle, took them back to him to restock his expensive pantry. And, if one wants to speak of expensive, this hotel is way, way too expensive. It was practically the same price as the high end, 5 star luxury resort in the Hill Country that I stayed at the week before, and I wasn't even offered a massage. So sorry to have to give this hotel 2 stars. There are plenty of resort cabins, Airbnb type places, and even one older hotel that seemed quite nice. I will look further the next time I stay. less

We appreciate every kind word mention, please keep in mind our primary goal is to provide our paying guests comfortable sleeping arrangements (e.g. extremely clean & neatly arranged rooms, sparkling white bathroom accommodations, soft pillows, spacious King and Queen beds, ample room to relax and arrange personal items in our 425 & 475 square foot rooms followed by a peaceful atmosphere both interior/exterior in order for all of our paying occupants the opportunity to rest well throughout their stay.
Some of our customers, far and few, have a tendency to expect our lodging facility to provide meals equivalent to a five star full dining facility. We strive to do our best to satisfy our paying customers with a variety of breakfast items in order to full-fill their personal palate by providing gluten products, individually wrapped flour tortillas, fresh eggs bought the day before, diced fresh tomatoes, onion, and bell pepper to spread over paying customers breakfast tacos. We also include freshly diced bananas, strawberry, watermelon, cantaloupe, and blueberry's so they can spread appropriate fruit over their TEXAS size waffle. Our biscuits are prepared at 0530 and served over a warm oven by 0630 which includes sausages and beacon slices that are crisp and flavored with smoke honey. Did I mention we also include gravy so our paying customers can spread over their freshly baked biscuits, I implemented this concept after serving our Country (over 20 years) in GA, MS, NC, and VA. Our posted breakfast time is well within reason however on a few occasions customers will sleep-in late then enter our breakfast area five minutes prior to closing and expect a resupply of all items just to satisfy their personal appetite. What the Hotel guest did not realize was during our resupplying of breakfast utensils he/she must of perceived we were removing the items but in fact we were just simply restocking items since our breakfast area was already well beyond our normal operating time. My deepest apology for anyone getting their feelings hurt during our resupplying of items (forks, spoons, etc...), at no point did we want our paying guests to run out of eating utensils.
As for the vending machine prices being less expensive than our pantry, it's purely economics. It cost the Hotel more money to send someone out to purchase soft drinks (e.g. labor cost, fuel cost, time to restock, etc...) oppose to a vending machine therefore our soft drinks are .50 cents more. We empower our paying customers the opportunity to pay at the vending machine or choose to select an item from our pantry. If anyone feels they have been robbed of their .50 cents, please bring it to the GM's attention immediately and we promise to repay the .50 cent expenditure made due to the lack of awareness of our internal Hotel amenities.
In closure, Best Western PLUS, Blanco Luxury Inn is privately owned business. If you ever see a husband and wife team working side-by-side and/or Father and Daughter enjoying their time together in the Hotel pool area it's because we are "Living the American Dream."
After serving our Nation for over 20 years, HONORABLY, please don't envy or despise how we spend time together.
