Travelled for a 2 night break with my Daughter. The intention to relax, have some good food and enjoy the spa and leisure facilities on offer. The hotel entrance is gorgeous, very grand with a relaxing bar set back serving bar snacks and drinks throughout the day and night. There is an undercover outside bar area in the courtyard where you can also relax on a warm day. Our room was a family room and we were not disappointed, it was big enough for our needs, very clean, bathroom a little small but adequate for one person at a time. There was the usual tea, coffee, cocoa, shortbread and a tv with plenty of channels but seemed to be lacking some older kids channel's. We visited the spa and leisure facilities several times throughout our stay. There were two pools, one is really for lane swimming and the others for kids and general, a Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Some children, I think it was 12-16 are allowed to use these facilities under adult supervision. The spa 'Cleopatras' although attached to the leisure club is independent- the girls in this place are fantastic, really friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The hotel is very rural, although I don't think there is anything within walking distance, if you are travelling by cat there are lots of other attractions on offer a short drive away. The hotel restaurant 'Brookes' serves a la carte meals which were very nice, the Bar food is also good food too. Well worth a visit to this hotel if you just looking for some pampering and relaxation. less
