A great stay at a great price point.
We stayed here one night, before heading out on a short 4-day cruise. We flew into LAX, and took the Metro down as the shuttles are more local - not a big deal. I'm also somewhat familiar with both urban travel, and Los Angeles and it's communities. Fly into Long Beach for the best connections and a hotel shuttle.
Check in was great. We were all set and pre-paid, so headed straight up to our room. The room was comfortable, and the window even opened for some fresh air. This was not needed, as the place smelled fine, and everything seemed to work. It was clean and functional, great for a one night stay!
Breakfast was decent, with a machine which made fresh pancakes (not home made, but OK), a couple waffle makers, yogurt, cereals, breads / bagels, etc... Standard continental, but solid.
The thing which made our stay exceptional was the shuttle service. We arrived early in the day, and they offered to keep our luggage until check in. We decided instead to rent a car from a nearby Budget (another review, here), and drive to see my wife's aunt. Upon our return to Long Beach, and with the hugely unpredictable LA traffic including an accident on the 410, we were pushing our arrival at their 5:00pm shuttle cut-off. I called ahead when we were getting close, and again to say we were gassing up, and that we would be about 10 minutes past 5. The driver, Deep, said "No problem!" and waited for us at the rental facility. This saved us a long walk, but also gave us a chance to get some great meal ideas for the area.
Overall, a great mid-level hotel for Long Beach. Solid room and meal with stellar service. less
