My husband and I stayed in Mutha Queens from Saturday 30th March for two nights. On arrival we were checked in by a lovely, polite young receptionist. We had requested a front facing room, however, none were available. We made our way to room 34, only to get lost and arrive back at reception. More our own fault than anyone else's. Eventually, we get to our room. The room was lovely, if a bit small with had partial views across the bay. Good enough for us. Despite being small the room had everything we needed. It was clean (spotless) and freshly decorated. Our only complaint about the room is that on the Saturday night there seemed to be humming noise coming from the back of the kitchen area. This went on all night and did disturb our sleep. We did hear the same noise on Sunday night however, it did stop before bed time and we slept like logs. The beds were comfortable and clean with good quality mattresses. Our television remote didn't work and reception replaced the batteries. The remote still wouldn't work. Given we were a bit of a jaunt from reception we decided not to report it again. We had the set menu on our first night. The food was delicious. My husband had the chicken, I had the salmon. All food was piping hot, good quality and beautifully presented. Breakfast was buffet style. The toaster should be replaced, it takes at least 10 minutes for toast. The breakfast was good quality produce which we enjoyed. Because of this we ate in the hotel again Sunday evening. My husband again had the chicken (he would like to know where you get it from) and I ordered from the main menu. I wasn't satisfied with my meal and Julie spoke to the chef. My complaint was handled quickly and made me feel like a valued customer. On the subject of Julie: Julie worked during our stay and what a hard working woman. When younger, I've worked in hospitality and observed how good she was at what she does. Julie was obviously under pressure with service demands and a lack of other hard working staff around her. To describe her, I'd use the word awesome! Despite being so busy, she was always polite, she took the time to deal with our requests / needs in a friendly, pleasant way. The bar area is lovely, especially the larger lounge area. It's a comfortable clean and relaxing place to sit. The Bar prices are on the higher side. We had a lovely stay in Mutha Queens and any critics s in this review are intended as constructive. We would definitely return to a Mutha hotel. less
