I have stayed at this hotel before and I was in a room that time with an ill fitting window and an pane of glass within the window that didn't fit, the manger replied he checked and this wasn't the case, as I couldn't reply, that was the final word on that, well let me start by saying that the pictures were uploaded to trip advisor so that you may see for yourself on my review last year.
Onto this stay, I am a Best Western Rewards Diamond member, not that this means anything anymore as I have yet to receive a welcome gift from any best western since this replaced the old scheme.
I booked this over the phone using Best Western Reward points, I booked one night using points and the second night using my credit card. Luckily i had proof on my app and emails of the reservations as they weren't expecting me or my pregnant wife, then they were only expecting me for one night and I had to check out and back in the next day.
I was allocated the 4th storey, in room 300, the elevator was out of order, my wife is pregnant with twins and I had a knee arthroscopy 2 weeks prior.
The room smelt badly, the window is screwed shut so as not to air "for guest safety" the bathroom had tiles missing and the bed was rock solid. All of a sudden I was grateful of having to check out and in the next day.
In the night the power stopped working and my wife and I showered and used toilet in the dark, I don't know why the power tripped but I expect it had something to do with the dripping water from the doorframe which Christian explained was probably a pipe.
The next day we were moved to room 117, much better room and experience but I did have problems the next day as they said I didn't have a booking and they had problems taking points for previous night off my account, I explained I wasn't particularly happy about being charged for a room with no power and rock hard bed, dripping door frame and a sink you could only drain by putting your hand in basin and picking plug out.
I will upload all the pictures for this, so regardless of managers response which I will be unable to respond to, I will upload the pictures and i took video also should that not suffice, had I not have had an even worse stay at a Holiday Inn this month i may be even more furious.
It is the reward scheme that makes me most angry as no Best Westerns, despite my asking 4 membersof staff prior to Christian seemed to know anything about any welcome gift.
Breakfast at this hotel was only continental and I asked for more croissants of pastries and was told 2 minutes but ended up in a 25 minute wait and having to ask numerous times. The breakfast was very poor, there's a Starbucks or pub across the road, use them. I had to insist the waitress throw away a bread item as a guest picked it up with her hands and putting back as the hotel had not put tongs out despite in being 9am and breakfast had been out some time.
The Kilburn Park tube station is nearby and this is Bakerloo line. I wouldn't stay here again as the only competent member of staff, Christian is off to MontCalm, which is a fantastic hotel with a fabulous restaurant, Nirvana Kitchen, Pan Asian, we ate there our first night of the two. less
