Great deal, if booked far enough in advance

We booked a suite, with a separate room for our daughter. It was only $89/night, but we did get it 6 months in advance. The other room is separated by an accordion-type partition, so it's not really sound-proof, but it's nice to get some privacy. The master bedroom has a king size bed, and the other room uses the couch as a pull-out bed. It worked out well for our daughter, as she could stay up late doing some homework, while we relaxed in the master bedroom.
The location is very convenient for Portland. We didn't end up driving more than 15 minutes or so to get to any attraction, or get to the University of Portland campus, where our son attends college.
We visited the Alberta district, downtown for the usual Powell's bookstore stop and to stop by Voodoo Doughnut and the Rose Garden, for the touristy triad.
We spent four nights in this hotel, and it's very comfortable. The bed is a little firm. The towels in the bathroom have a nice high thread count, and are fluffy. The housekeeping staff was always friendly and prompt.
The free breakfast was fine. The scrambled eggs seemed to be real eggs, and they have a pancake machine that will server up a pancake with a single button push. They also had cereal, milk, oatmeal, juices, sausages, potatoes, muffins, yogurt, and fresh fruit. We had breakfast there several times during our stay, and it was always tasty and clean.
We'll definitely stay here again, if we get pricing as we did for this stay - totally worth it.
There is a mini-refrigerator and microwave in our room as well, although we didn't really use them.
My only negative is that a couple of blocks away, there is a whole street of vehicles and tents where it looks like homeless folks live. We had no issues at all during our stay, and our vehicle was secure, but it's just something to keep in mind when wandering around.
There's a Burger King just next door, and a Shari's Restaurant (family diner type of place) as well. There are also a Chines and a Mexican restaurant within walking distance of the hotel.
Definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting Portland for a day or two. less

Hello Joe G,
We are glad that you chose us! It is definitely better to book in advanced as that usually gives you the better rate. It seems like you were definitely busy during your stay in Portland. There is so much to do but unfortunately not enough time! You definitely got a lot done. We are proud to say that our breakfast is done fresh every morning and the eggs are real, cracked every morning :) Portland unfortunately has a homeless problem, we hope that the city does something about it as it affects most of the areas, specially downtown. We offer many promotions during the year, so be on the lookout for any of our great rates! We definitely hope to see you on your next visit to Portland.
