We booked into this hotel as it was conveniently located for a birthday party we were attending in nearby Leytonstone. On arrival our room key wasn't working, no problem really so the front of house ran to get another, again which didn't work. He then came back with the main key and on opening the door was greeted with a voice saying "it's me Ash" - hignly amusing. Worrying also as the front of house didnt seem to know who 'Ash' was even though 'Ash' sounded like he sound do. Our guess was he was a staff member enjoying a cheeky nap and the particular front of house didn't know him or had started his shift after 'Ash' had. We were given room 20, which on arrival smelt extremely bad. The irony was it was very clean so my guess was it may have been a personal hygiene thing and may have actually been the cleaner that had cleaned the room. it's happened to us all, we've all forgotten our BO slayer in the morning. On to the shower which was hidden behind a sliding door that had come off it's runner. The shower blew hot, cold and then extra hot. Seriously hot. A child would have been scalded. We complained and were given 'IT guy's response' of, turn it off and on at the mains. That didn't work. Why would it of. Also a fire alarm powerful enough to wake satan from his darkest dream rang out on Sunday morning at 6.30am. Always a welcome wake up call on a hangover :-(
Safe to say we won't be heading back any time soon.
In the hotels defence our friends stayed across the road in the 'sister site' and said it was fine. less
