There were 19 in our party and we all agreed this was an excellent hotel for an out of season visit. The building and facilities looked fresh and well-maintained. The rooms were spacious and well-equipped with fridge, safe and wifi access. The sea views are fabulous. There is good wheelchair access and disabled access to the pool.
The management was efficient and unobtrusive. The staff were very hard-working, pleasant and helpful. One of our party lost a hearing aid, and the staff put themselves to great trouble to find it. This was typical of the customer focus.
All meals were buffet-style with a good variety of tasty meat, fish, fruit, salad and veggie dishes. Everyone was content.
There is a bar and an attractive pool area. There is a pub but it was closed out of season. There is a small games arcade and a selection of used books. There is weekend live music and dancing even out of season.
The hotel is about 3 miles from the town centre. A lovely path bordered with wild rosemary, fennel and other plants follows the coastline. Salobrena itself is not of great interest. There is an attractive old town of steep narrow lanes, an old church that may well be closed and a large Moorish castle that is essentially a stabilised ruin with great views. The Friday market is small and comprises mostly cheap shoes and clothes and is generally disappointing. It may be more interesting in season.
Visitors who wish to sight-see need to give thought to transport and may need a hired car unless travelling in a party
The out-of-season deal is excellent value and highly recommended. less
