We checked into the Motel 6 in Westampton at about 2 o'clock on the 27th of May, we were concerned about early check in, but were told that it was good we got there early because they were overbooked. We had requested a handicap room because I have some mobility issues and use a scooter to get around. The room was obviously not used much as it had no pictures, the sheets didn't cover the bed properly, and there was no TV remote. There was 1 towel in the bathroom. My wife went to the front desk and after tracking down the staff outside working on their car, we were promised that they would send the towels right up. We then requested a remote for the TV, the person from the desk came down and pointed to the spot on the wall where it was written in pencil, TV on with an arrow pointing to the power button. I explained that we would need a remote, and one was brought. Unfortunately it didn't work the TV at all. I did a little research and was able to get the remote programmed myself. 4 PM still no towels, my wife again walked to the front desk, again everyone outside working on a car or playing on the phone. Finally someone brought us some towels, we asked for additional pillows because the 3 on the king size bed were flat and not enough for us, and were advised that they had none. At this point we were over it, but alas every place near by was fully booked. Now for issues with the room... Not dirty but not cleaned, Maintenance was non existent, the support bars for the handicap toilet were dangerously floppy. The Mattress overhung the foundation by nearly a foot which if I were wheelchair bound would have been very dangerous for transferring to the bed. The toilet paper holder pulled right out of the wall. There were many cigarette burns in the blanket on the bed, and on the curtains. There were many places that had either deferred or shoddy maintenance. It was aggravating because the issues with this room were not super expensive to fix, if they had a qualified maintenance guy on staff these were all pretty easy fixes. I have scads of pictures which I will upload
I also wanted to point out that my wife was accosted by someone who apparently lived there wanting a ride to the hospital. This same person was quizzing me on my pain levels and if I had anything for the pain.
The reason we had chosen Motel 6 is because of hearing lots of ads bragging about the new updated hotels. This isn't one of them. less
