I don't know where to start really. It's been 20 years that I am travelling the world for both business and pleasure. I always get dissapointed by the best western accomodatiions and I always tell myself not to book one again. I don0t know why but I ended uo in one again. This will be the last best western for me, period.
Most probablyI chose this one for the location, which is excellent. The room promises to be big...a junior suite. Wow ! a suite ! ...not much bigger than any normal room in Europe.
By car you enter the hotel garage. Bit hard to find but that is a Strasbourg problem. The garae at itself is horrible. Doe snot need to be a star garage but swipe it out maybe ! Than you get the the elevator ( room for 2 people, baby buggy does not fit, , let alone a weel chair.. ) The door to the elevator room is kept open by a chair.
From the elevator one enters the hotel lobby. I had to ask if I was in the hotel because the lobby puzzled me. It serves as office for the employees, lobby, lounge, breakfast room. The wooden floo could be very nice but gives you the feeling o reallt dirty althought it seems new. the entrance is not welcoming at all.
Staff wasvery nice and friendly adn english speaking. Nevertheless I don0t really want to see hotel employees in bodywarmers.
Than we got to our room..5th flloor, very nice view over part of downtown.But the room was sooooo hot and sooooo old and the carpet really dirty. that should have been removed and replaced 10 years ago.
I have seen the managers commenst which are nothig but ciopy and paste. Dear manager, fix the hotel while you are at it, Also the renemed part. One just does not feel at home in the lobby. You're still in time. You don't want to close the hotel during re construction ? Than lower your rices. Euro 30,-would be more than sufficient.
Mr manager, have you ever thought of having breakfast in that lobby at Euro14,00 per person ? The shape your hotel is in would allow for a complimentary breakfast. Otherwise I could only recommend the excellentbagel shop right across the street.
I would have preferredto spend 300 euro's in the Regent Hotel.
