We used this hotel recently for overnight stay & parking.
Nice greeting and very helpful, the receptionist who checked us in and handled our booking for Taxis transfer to Gatwick North in the morning. The hotel does run its own bus, £3 per person each way, but doesn’t run 24hrs. No bother, they booked us with EVO taxis, and they only charged £6 each way ( we were 2 persons so no different), including at 2am in the morning. They were perfect.
The hotel looked a bit tired, but the room was clean, reasonably equipped and perfectly adequate.
We looked at the menu, which though simple was reasonably priced, so we used the hotel bar/restaurant . It wasn’t, overly comfortable, more like sitting in a canteen really. Could do with some comfy chairs to make it more welcoming and relaxing. It was a bit short staffed too, with it appeared only 1 member (and he wasn’t that interested) of staff running the bar, and waiting on tables, though it appeared the general manager did come and offer some assistance as there were quite a few people ordering food.
When the manager delivered our scampi & chips, my wife asked for ketchup to which he replied “ it’s over there”, and there was no Tartare sauce available. So not much service there.
We had precooked the hotel breakfast, which was only available 7-9, was very basic, and not particularly nice. It was all self serve, and didn’t look very appetising.
Overall, the hotel was fine to stay overnight, the parking was fine, but I wouldn’t eat there again, unless changes were made. less
