Beautiful setting by Frensham Pond, and with superb view. That's the good bit. When I arrived the entrance was deserted apart from a couple of staff behind the desk. There were workmen everywhere and I had to question of the hotel was open. There were cupboards with doors yet to be fitted full of tools, paints and drills on the floor in the entrance. The bar counter was covered in a dust sheet while they painted the walls. There was banging and hammering. The ladies toilet door wasn't finished. The steps hadn't been finished and there was plaster dust all around. Not really what one expects when entering a hotel. The gardens were a job in progress too with workmen working on the outside of the building too.
I won't be rushing back, and sadly won't be able to give a good account to others. What a shame as they should have waited to complete the work before re-opening. This is not a good indication of the management ethos. less
