Stayed here for the best part of a working week. My first and main impressions were that it was a very well kept high standard hotel. Gorgeous setting, great quality food, beautiful location, just lovely!
The few minor details that lead me to scoring a 4 and not 5 were, firstly I had no soap for the first 3 days. I have never had to provide my own soap at a hotel before. Shower gel and shampoo I always bring because I don't expect to have that provided by the hotel but hand soap you get even in the lowest of standard hotels. I believe it was just an oversight perhaps because I did end up getting soap on my last day.
The second thing was that there was a fair bit of building works going on. This wasn't the problem, in fact I found it encouraging that maintenance work was being done at the quiet times etc. However the second thing that made me score slightly lower was that I encounter electrical engineers as I was leaving the hotel who could see I had a large rucksack and a wheeled suitcase (also carrying a coat and another bag in my arms) and they just let the door swing shut in my face. I'm not going to lie it really annoyed me. I know they don't work directly for the hotel but they were seen working around the hotel the whole time I was there so I know they're a contractor and representative of the hotel in the customers eyes. I know they were electrical technicians because they were parked right next to me when I got to my car.
The hotel itself however was very clean, very beautiful and delivered great food. I believe my experiences were extreme and possibly have been one offs. However I feel I should be honest in my experience and share how I felt at the time. less

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience of the Frensham Pond hotel. I am glad to read that despite a few issues you still rated your visit so highly.
We will be addressing the issue regarding the soap with our housekeeping team however I am sure this was an oversight on their part for which I do apologise.
It is very unusual to read that one of the workmen did not hold the door open for you and we will address this internally . Having said this we often have workmen staying with us that work locally.
