Booked afternoon tea with a friend for our mums to celebrate their 80th Birthdays. Tea was disappointing I have to say. I have been to lots of places for afternoon tea and this was not up there with the best. Lots of little things nothing major that I felt I needed to complain on the day & spoil the mum's celebration. Just a few examples:- some of the sandwiches still had crusts on, some of the outside ones were dry, the scones arrived with no cream or jam so after 10 mins waiting I had to call the waiter over. When they arrived without spoons again had to call the waiter over & the jam was fruitless & not good quality. Some of the cakes were lovely, others looked like shop cakes as another reviewer had mentioned. Finally no one came and asked us if we'd like more tea/coffee so again I had to ask. Overall disappointing and so won't be back. It's a shame as the setting is lovely and the staff very pleasant. less

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review following your recent afternoon tea.
We are disappointing that you did not have a superior experience as you will see from previous reviews that we have an excellent reputation for our afternoon tea offering. All scones and cakes are made in house and the jam is of an acceptable quality from a reputable supplier.
In terms of the service I would have to agree that it is simply not good enough. It seems we may have dropped the ball on this occasion.
Please do accept my sincere apologies for your disappointing experience and I do hope you will give us another chance of reinstating your faith in the Frensham Pond Hotel
