Not my best hotel stay

I neglected to look closely, and was surprised that this hotel is actually a motel. My fault. My friend and I were in Dallas for a concert and the hotel was in a convenient location off the highway and near the Granada Theatre.
We stepped in and the first light overhead was DARK. The room looked sketchy. But then we turned all the lights on, and we saw it was clean and put together. Then we went to the restroom after our long trip. My friend noticed a small spot of blood on the toilet paper roll and asked me if I was bleeding. I was not. EWW.
When we got back from the concert, the room felt okay temperature-wise, but when got in bed we realized the one blanket was not going to cut it. I went to call room service, but the phone DID NOT WORK. I called from my cell.
I asked for another blanket, and the guy at the front desk said he had to go "check to see how many they had left". He returned to the phone to say there was one left. Ok, I get that this is Dallas and you're not used to temps in the 30s and 40s, but this hotel was probably only 10% full. He asked that I come down and get it. Now, I realize that he was probably the only one working, but it was 12:30 at night. I'm not going to come down the outdoor hallway to get a blanket.
So we did without. We turned the heater up to 78 degrees, but the unit only blew lukewarm air all night.
The bed was comfortable for a hotel. The breakfast was good. I was just really disappointed. I've stayed in a LOT of hotels over the past 10+ years and this was no where near the best. :/ less
