As a local and not having visited for some time, I thought a bar supper would be nice. Friday evening we were the only people there. One girl doing reception and that was it . Went in to the bar/lounge/restaurant no one there. The receptionist eventually arrived ( she obviously thought we were there just to see the place) Gin and tonic They did not have any lemon. We should have left at this juncture. A waiter arrived, Hurrah!... Not a white shirt. Tail hanging out of trousers. Cuffs not clean and half way down his hands. Collar open and tie all over the place. Food was just edible. The hotel is clean and looks well maintained Old worldly with a modern touch. There are a couple of really good restaurants in Lanark and a number of reasonable ones ( plain fare ) This is not one. Will not be back. less

Myself and the team have taken all your comments on board and in order to ensure that the presentation of staff is kept to the highest standard, we are in the process of changing our staff uniform. I would like to apologise for your delay in service, the appropriate members of staff have been spoken to and staff are now required to stay in the bar at all times. If you would like to further discuss your visit please do not hesitate to contact me.
