First time at the Cartland Bridge, easy to find and big car park at the end of the drive. Check in was efficient and I had a large room, the decor in keeping with the style of the hotel but with only one radiator in the room it was was cool and I had to keep my fleece on. Dinner was in the bar which I thought lacked atmosphere and appeared a bit austere. Two menu's available, I chose from the Table de'hote having chicken soup, which was tasty and contained plenty of chicken, followed by steak pie which was excellent. The bed was comfortable and although I thought the room cold, the quilt was very warm. The bathroom was small and dated but was clean and there was plenty of hot water. A decent sized TV in the room which also had text so that I could look at the news. Breakfast was freshly cooked although my poached eggs on toast with bacon did come in three parts, the toast first, then the eggs and finally the bacon. Overall a pleasant stay and good value for money. less
