I really wanted to like staying at this hotel, because the neighborhood is very convenient and affordable for Paris, but the hotel is severely understaffed making it difficult to have an enjoyable experience if any issue arises. Several seriously unpleasant issues arose while I was there.
First, the safe in my room was locked when I arrived and impossible to open, so I left the “do not disturb” sign on my door that day, until I returned in the evening. Then, when I asked the nighttime reception person to help me fix the safe, he said he would come upstairs but never did. I called again half an hour later, same thing, and another half an hour later, same thing again. I even went downstairs, which didn’t prompt him to be any more helpful.
Second, I ate an apricot and threw the pit in the garbage, and I noticed that within an hour ANTS were completely swarming the trash can, and freely entering my room from the outside. My trash can must have had 200 ants in it!!! How horrible!! Then, when I told the night reception about this situation, he told me there were no maids available until the next day so he couldn’t help me. As if he doesn’t know where to empty the trash bins?! He also blamed me for having the “do not disturb” sign on my door, preventing the maids from taking out my trash earlier. WHAT?? The night reception person blamed me for everything wrong with my room instead of trying to help. He did not care that there were ants swarming my room, possibly spreading to other rooms, so I just had to live with it. Needless to say, I did not get a wink of sleep while staying at this hotel and had to leave early.
The daytime reception staff were actually very helpful, and I’m thankful that they didn’t charge me for checking out earlier than I had planned. If it hadn’t been for the awful nighttime staff, staying here may not have been so bad. less
