A friend and I stayed one night in Room 8 while having a weekend sightseeing. The pub was very busy but the room nice and quiet on the second floor. The inn is very charming and old, but facilities such the bathroom, TV and coffee making facilities perfectly up to modern standard. Gorgeous view of the Minster! The only thing was we were both woken several times in the night by very bright white lights flashing in the room, periodically from about midnight through to six in the morning. We couldn’t find a reason for it—the room lights were a warm yellow, the curtains were fully drawn, there was no damage to our charging for phones to suggest an electrical surge, and the TV had been switched off at the wall. Maybe the resident ghosts were trying to say hello! less

Thank you for your brilliant review
What a strange experience you had with us! We've never heard of anything like this happening before and as you say there is nothing in the room to cause bright flashing lights so i think you may be right about those resident ghosts..
I'm very happy to hear you've enjoyed your stay with us, even the ghosts & hope to see you again in the future
