Such excellent value ... a great place to stay ... and the staff, most notably Beth on Reception, can't do enough to make your stay memorable for all the right reasons.
We recently stayed two nights as we were attending a wedding a few miles away. We stayed in the annexe, waking to views over the Lancashire countryside. The room was very well furnished for the price paid (including an iron and ironing board) and the bed comfortable. A request for a missing bar of soap was met with immediate effect. It should be mentioned though that the annexe rooms are not well soundproofed and a rather energetic couple in the next room did keep banging their bed headboard against our wall rather late at night. The gardens were well maintained and, come the summer months, will be a great place to take drinks outside.
The breakfasts were good and the staff professional and most helpful ... nothing was too much trouble. A special mention must go to Beth, the receptionist, who very successfully, arranged our weekends travel arrangements ... her customer service skills were excellent.
A great weekend and we will, most definitely, be staying at Higher Trapp Country House again. less
