Owners were very pleasant, rooms were clean and decent size, basic amenities, etc. Didn't eat there but the location did have dining on site. While this is part of the Best Western chain it is most certainly a lodge which gave it a much nicer atmosphere than the typical stereotype. Relatively quiet during the stay which was nice as well.
Internet was completely useless so don't plan on depending on it at all (found that Best Western in general is very poor but this was the worst I've ever had at a hotel, period). Reasons given were due to location in the highlands, which is partially true, however I stayed at other places and it wasn't nearly as bad. Seriously, unusable.
Location is a mixed bag. It is well spaced between Fort Williams and Cairngorms so if spending a few days in the region it's easy to access both areas. On the flip side, the hotel is located on the motorway into the parks and is somewhat isolated meaning that you will need to plan on a 15-20 minute drive to get food, gas, etc. Depends on personal preference. It should be noted that the hotel had lots of signs about theft in the parking lot and on site, and it does lock it's doors during the middle of the day, but I didn't experience any issues or feel at risk at all.
Value is in line with the region (which is expensive!), didn't feel overly priced against similar hotels or locations. In addition to the outdoor parks and Fort Williams the hotel is close to the Commando Monument (small activity and populated with motorists / tourists but like the rest of the region gorgeous views and easily accessible).
Overall good stay and particularly liked the convenience and comfort around day hiking (hill walking) in the region. less
