BEST WESTERN Glenspean Lodge Hotel.

BEST WESTERN Glenspean Lodge Hotel is tucked away in an idyllic spot near Fort William, just two miles outside of the pretty little village of Roy Bridge. Sitting on a peaceful hillside with beautiful mountain views, the hotel offers the perfect place to reflect and relax! In a delightfully secluded setting, the hotel is a world away from everyday life and its unwanted distractions. From walks, canoeing and fishing to quad biking, paintballing and clay pigeon shooting, we can arrange lots of activities during your stay, so it's not too peaceful!

Our beautiful dining room only adds to the magical atmosphere here at the BEST WESTERN Glenspean Lodge Hotel. As you enjoy a romantic meal, you can gaze out over Ben Nevis (as well as into each others eyes of course!). If you want to venture out and enjoy the freshest of fresh air, you'll find wonderful walks within our five acres of hillside and woodland. Just 20 minutes away, you'll also find our famous little Cille Choirill - a little church on the hill used in the filming of Monarch of the Glen.

Breathtaking views over the surrounding area await, or you could go down to the gorge and walk across the rickety bridge (which is now a rather up-to-date strong bridge, but will always be called the rickety bridge by the locals!).

Maintaining high brand standards and excellence in quality is second nature to the BEST WESTERN Glenspean Lodge Hotel, in Fort William. We have proven that going that extra mile during our annual BEST WESTERN quality assurance assessments really does pay off. Our hard work and dedication to cleanliness and quality of both guest rooms and public areas has gained us the BEST WESTERN International Quality Award. A global recognition of excellence given to only a few selected hotels throughout the world, this award shows that we take pride in offering high levels of excellence in quality and brand standards our guests expect.

Our Head Chef has been with us for several years now and has an excellent reputation for his home cooked food, having travelled the world cooking in his younger days. He has a vast knowledge of food and makes almost everything we serve from breads to soups, pates and an amazing array of mouthwatering desserts, using only the freshest local ingredients; with some being grown in our very own greenhouse.

Our restaurant has a panoramic view of over the gardens and mountains towards Ben Nevis, so you can feast your eyes whilst you treat your tastebuds! A modern yet classical room, in keeping with the rest of the house, sets the perfect scene for our beautiful home cooked breakfasts and dinners, beautifully presented to Rosette standard!

Owner Response
geordieianian, Owner at BEST WESTERN Glenspean Lodge, responded to this review
Thank you for your review, you booked through a company called Travelweb, there was no note on the booking that you were a Bestwestern Card Member, but even if there had been there was No Mountain View win rooms available to give you a complimentary upgrade that evening so you would have still got the standard twin room that you booked, it does clearly state on our website that we are in a remote area. Most people that come to the highlands don't come to sit in their rooms on the Wi-Fi they come for the outdoors and the scenery, our Wi-Fi can be very slow because of our location, we don't apologise for something that s speed is out of our control, guests changing the settings on our TV's is also an issue looking for channels from their own country, I am sorry yours hadn't been checked that morning as I was away at Hospital, but Im sure as soon as you mentioned it the problem was quickly and efficiently rectified. Ian is an exceptionally good host, but you cant please all of your guests all of the time even when you try. and as this is your second review under a different name you are obviously one of the guests that is harder to please. regards Suzanne
