My wife and I had travelled up to visit Spean Bridge, and instead of having a long day travelling, stayed the night at Glenspean Lodge - WHAT A GREAT DECISION THAT WAS!
From the minute we checked in, till the time we checked out I could fault nothing!
Check-in was very friendly and informative (were even shown to our room, something you do not get very often these days). Our room was great - clean, tidy, warm, and with a fantastic view over the gardens to the hills beyond (lovely bay window seat in room). Bar was clean and well stocked with a very efficient and friendly barman. We decided to eat in the bar as opposed to in the restaurant as the ambiance was very relaxing (the same menu items available in the restaurant were also available in the bar). Table service was very efficient and the food was really tasty and portions were just the right size for a hungry traveller (this was the same at breakfast the next morning). Check-out was also a friendly and efficient affair with the bill being ready and waiting for us (and correct).
Would recommend this place to anyone and shall hopefully stay again at some time (Special praise got to go to Iain the receptionist / barman / waiter / housekeeper .......- I wish I had your energy!).
Pity about the "sour grapes" review a few reviews back - hardly a reflection of the hotel or staff that run it. Hopefully anyone genuinely interested in staying at this hotel will see it for what it is, and be guided more by the comments of people who have actually stayed or eaten in the hotel. less
