This is the 4th time I have stayed at Best Western Oxford Suites Makati, and again, they didn't disappoint. No one at Oxford Suites will tell you that their hotel is a 5 star experience, but for their 3+-4 star classification we surely do get value for the money; as all I really need is a clean room and excellent service and they continue to deliver that beyond any reasonable expectations.
This time out, a calamity struck in respect to their cable provider crashed and all their subscribers (Oxford Suites included) had no cable for a few days. Certainly, this was completely outside Oxford's control, but how they reacted to it absolutely was inside their control. I was a regular guest (not in their best/most expensive room) and almost immediately someone came to my room, not only with a DVD player but also with a selection of complimentary movies for me to choose from. It really didn't matter to me that I had already seen the movies they had to offer me - what really mattered to me was that they did everything in their collective power to insure I had the best stay possible (regardless if the cable was down).
They made sure I had a clean room, decent breakfast, the best service that was inside their power, (and most importantly) a smile from every direction. For me, great service and smiling faces are everything, so for my next trip to Makati I will only choose Best Western Oxford Suites.
If you're on a budget and you make that same choice - you'll be glad you did.
