We stayed at this hotel from July 23 to July 30, 2016. The hotel is located in the center of Condado – a noisy place with busy traffic. There is a bus stop at both corners of Condado ave. The hotel's lobby looks nice. The pool is small. The gym is adequate; however, there is a radio in the ceiling that plays 24/7 with no way to turn it off, even if you are alone and don't want to listen. There are towels and drinking water available in the gym. The breakfast area is huge, with enough room for everyone to eat. The front desk can give you towels for the pool and beach. The pool has a convenient shower. Some distance from the beach, beach lounge chairs are available for visitors of the hotel if you show your room key. There are also umbrellas for rent, but it is hard to find shade on the beach regardless. The water temperature in the ocean was warmer than the air.
We stayed in room 1104. At check in, we asked for a quiet room. The front desk agent told us that this room is across from the elevator but the elevator is quiet. The elevator itself was quiet but the people who used the elevator were loud, regardless of the time of the night. They screamed and laughed very loudly, especially some children coming in after midnight. My advice is to definitely avoid any rooms near the elevator.
The room has a balcony. The furniture in the room is old, cracked, and overused. The bathroom looks like a cheap motel, except that a cheap motel costs much less per night. The walls have old, cracked paint, with dim lighting and a small mirror. The bathroom tub is slippery; no bathtub mats are provided. The beds are good. The housekeeping service is good everywhere. We checked into this room on Saturday. On Tuesday, the hotel started remodeling room 1105, which shares an adjoining wall with room 1104. The walls have no sound insulation and it felt like everything was being done in our room. We had a terrible time with this remodeling. There were all kind of noises like knocking, saws cutting, squeaking, grinding, and the roar of a motorcycle, all day long. We were glad that our stay ended on Saturday and we were ready to move to another hotel. We didn't complain because they could have offered to relocate us, but relocation is usually inconvenient. We could only escape this noise by going away for the entire day. The weather was hot and humid and to stay outside for a long time was not much fun. The price per night is the same with these noises and without.
Breakfast had an outstanding service. The front desk provided excellent service, ready to help us with any problem. The tour corner agents Ms. Natalia and Mr. Angel helped us with orientation in the city and with finding different places.
At check out, guest service agent Ms. Alexandra asked us how it was, and after our explanation about our terrible experience, Ms. Alexandra gave as service discount that reduced our aggravation.
In all, if we were to go back to the same area, we would stay at this hotel again with all of the nice services and wonderful location. Also, we may recommend this hotel to our friends, keeping in mind our experiences. less
