Paid $300.00 to stay in a basement of a hotel, feel very claustrophobic, room was small. Asked the front desk if I can change my room to a different room, got a very rude response. Worse customer service I ever got. Can not believe this hotel got a 4 star hotel; its more like a 1 star hotel. Carpet was dirty and furniture has excessive wear and tear. less

Thank you so much for your review of our Hotel.
My concerns as very simple as your reservation was made with a 3rd Party Reservation Service was $200, not the $300 as stated. My understanding is that you requested to be moved we were sold out completely so the option to move to the requested room was impossible, so I can understand how not being able to fulfill your request equates to worst customer service.
So as I have explained to every post on Trip Advisor and other locations we pride ourselves on Quality and Service, however we try very hard to accommodate each and every guest but always fulfill the request of the room type no matter where the location of the room is, for example if you ask for a Queen you will ALWAYS get a Queen or upgraded from there. The lower area rooms have 12 foot ceilings and are much larger then any other rooms in the hotel that are above, these are highly requested rooms by our corporate clients. We truly invite all to see upon arrival that the lower level is truly highly desirable for longer stays due tot he space.
Again please accept my apologies if the larger room you occupied with us was not as large as your expectations, however they are quite compatible with any other NYC Hotel
