Spent a night here as part of a driving tour round Western Scotland in June 2022.
The hotel has a fantastic location with stunning views over Loch Fyne. We found the staff very friendly and the place certainly has character. However the building does feel very dated, even though there has been a recent refurbishment. Getting to and from reception to our room involved walking up and down various sets of stairs and through what felt like a maze.
The room itself was pleasant if cramped. The bathroom was clean but felt cheap with a plastic floor and toilet roll holder attached to the back of the door (not come across that before). There were tea and coffee making facilities provided, and a rather small TV in the room.
We had dinner the night we stayed, and thought the food and service was of good quality. We paid nearly £300 for one night's stay and dinner, and thought it was expensive for what we got. As with many old hotels in the UK, we felt it did not offer the level of service and amenities required in the 21st century. less
