We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and there were several problems which we had, mainly with noise in our room and some of the English breakfast being dried out due to heat lamps and being unappetising.
I have given the hotel 4 stars because all of the staff we spoke to responded to each request and went above and beyond to meet our expectations.
We ended up having a lovely room, quiet and breakfast was vastly improved by being cooked to order. If the kitchen could keep the food warm without drying certain items out it would negate many complaints I'm sure.
The rooms were spotless we saw, if there is a problem with your room I suggest politely bringing it to the attention of the management.
The hotel was too corporate in feel for us, but the staff were cheerful and reacted to the best of their abilities to make us happy and we left most impressed.
The grounds are very attractive and convenient for a walk into Kendal, or a cab costing approx £5.
