HOTEL FILLED WITH DRUGGIES AND HOMELESS PEOPLE
WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE!!!! We just finished exploring Sequoia NP and arrived late at night. Once we got our key we headed over to our room to check it out before bringing all of our stuff in. Due to COVID-19 we were wearing our masks, but once we opened the door to the hallway of rooms I started coughing. The dingy old hallway to our room reeked of smoke. Then we opened our room and that smelled even worse. We went back to the front desk and she offered to switch us to another room. As she was working on the room change my husband had to run back to the room to get something he left in there. I asked her if that was normal for it to smell so bad being that it's a "non smoking facility." She said "Yeah it doesn't surprise me. People do whatever they want around here." That was my first warning that we should have run from this place. We got out to our car and proceeded to our 2nd room. Driving around the complex there were several sketchy people (warning #2) and several signs that say "do not leave personal belongings in your car, call Fresno Police with any problems (warning #3). We go to the outside doors and it's unlocked (warning #4) instead of having to use your room key to open. It didn't smell to bad and our room was somewhat reasonable at first glance so we thought we would give it a shot since we were so tired. We walk back out to the hallway and it reeked!!! There was some scary looking guy talking on the phone on the stairs asking to "get hooked up" (warning #5). We walk outside to get our things and felt like we were being watched. We rushed to get our stuff inside and the smell just got worse. Then on one trip inside with our stuff a couple walks out of the room across from us. He was totally stoned and she was carrying a huge bottle of alcohol and a bong. Then I hear something slamming and look down the hall to see another guy letting someone in who looked homeless with his bike. The room next to us had a dog that barked half of the night. Upon further inspection of our room, the bathtub was fifthy. The shower and fridge barely worked. There was mold in the shower and every time you tried to pull toilet paper off, the whole thing would fall apart. There was only one extremely small trash can in the room and none in the bathroom. We had a go get ice for our cooler and my husband didn't want to let me go alone. There was only one working ice machine on the property near the lobby. Upon walking over there, the property was littered with druggies smoking pot and getting high. Several large groups of people milling around in the dark. There were cockroaches running around by the ice machine. We got back to the room and just kept praying that our new car was going to be there in the morning. We woke up early and rushed out of there. Neither of us slept well. Our car had several dirty fingerprints around the doors/windows in the morning. There was a police helicopter circling over head and several cop cars roaming the parking lot. We throw everything into the car. We stopped to get more ice, but yet again there was a woman standing there smoking weed. We said forget it and went to check out but then they informed my husband that there was a separate CA tourism tax added that was never announced online or at the time of booking. We have never been so relieved to leave a hotel. You have been warned. Bring a gun or protection if you plan on staying here. less
