We come to Troy every year for Special Olympics held at Troy University. Last year we went form the Hampton to the Best Western Troy Inn and were very pleased with the hotel, it was clean, new, the people were friendly and the price was ten dollars cheaper. This year they were full and only had one employee on duty. Checking in was a joke, we got the same room assigned to someone else and walked in on them, had to go back to the desk, wait again to have a room reassigned. She spent her time on the phone helping guests, running around, getting batteries for a guest and whatever else she has hurriedly doing, one elderly person in our party was not happy with the sanitation of the bed sheets but could not get a hold of the front desk because the employee was buried with other guest's needs. We went to the front desk and waited while she did several other things to help others and we took bed sheets up to the room for her ourselves.
When you have events in your town you know well in advance that you are going to be full. Why was only one person scheduled on duty!!?? This is very inadequate, indifferent or inept management. In the morning checking out, the same employee from the night before, was trying to keep up with the breakfast needs and was overwhelmed. I wanted a receipt because they charged my card when I made the reservation and the amount was different than what the rate showed when we checked it. There was another employee at a the front desk but was SLOW and did not have much of a sense of urgency even though there were several waiting. The printer was malfunctioning and she did not have a clue how to reset or fix it. I got a receipt that was not readable and she showed no concern for this so I asked her to email me the receipt but have not received it. Needless to say, with so many issues the management of this hotel is very inadequate. This is sad as they began so well. Next time in Troy we will rethink staying at the Troy Inn. less
