Clowns Gathering in Lowestoft.
A whole crowd of us stayed at the Hatfield Hotel for the annual Clown Gathering. I avoid hotels.. they're really not my thing.. but I can't pretend that my stay at the Hatfield was anything other than wonderful. The room was everything it should have been, with a beautiful view of the sea; the staff were friendly and welcoming and very relaxed, and dealt brilliantly with twenty or so noisy clowns at breakfast, and also in the bar in the evenings., when i'm afraid there were occasions when we made a bit of noise. But on the one occasion that a fellow guest complained about this, the staff immediately passed it on to us, and of course we turned down the noise, Breakfasts were splendid.. I'm vegetarian, and felt that I was well catered for.. otherwise I ate elsewhere, so I can't say anything else about the food, but friends who did eat in were very complimentary. We'll be back there again next year, and I for one am very happy about that. The only problem was that my friend with whom I was sharing needed a walk in shower, and had not stipulated this, and had to use the bath, which was much less convenient for him. The staff did their best to find us another room with a walk in shower, but none was available, however this was not their fault . As far as I was concerned, I was comfortable, well fed and felt very welcome and well looked after. less
