We stayed two years ago and loved the place. But this autumn, duct tape on the carpet and broken tile made it feel shabby all over. We had also lucked out with a full bathtub in 2013, and I can tell you that the elbow-unfriendly glass shower cylinder is a pretty poor substitute.
ASK if there is any room choice as you check in; the rooms are incredibly varied and bath v. shower, basement v. upstairs may make a huge difference in experience. Is the location divine? Yes. Was it clean and generally pleasant? Yes. (And would I stay again? Absolutely...if guaranteed a tub.) But it is interesting to see it's still being billed as a four-star hotel. It is not and has never been anything other than three-star; please don't pay more than that's worth to you. And it's a weak 3* assuming the flooring is still an issue. It currently offers nothing superior to the nearby Premier Inns. less

Thank you for sharing your experience with us on Tripadvisor. We value every feedback we get from our guests, it is a great way to see where we can improve our service.
I have noted your comment that our hotel feels a bit shabby. I would like to inform you that the hotel was recently taken over by new owners, and at the moment we are working towards all the issues, by maintaining our hotel step by step.
Our hotel is situated in old building, and all rooms are unique sizes and layout. Most of the rooms at the lower ground floor are bigger then the higher floors. Also when the guests are making reservation we always advise to let us know what they would prefer to have in the room - shower or bath and also where they would like the room to be allocated - higher or lower floor, windows facing street or back side garden, and depending on availability we always try to fulfil all the requests.
I would like to thank you once again for taking time and sharing your feedback with us. When next time you will be coming to London, please do not hesitate to contact us directly, as we can always offer you a good deal for your stay. And we hope we will welcome you soon at our hotel.
