I stayed recently at this hotel. They should be censured for false advertising. They have listed themselves as a four star hotel on all of the major distribution sites, and also on this site, but they are not. By their own admission they are a 3 star hotel. I would never have booked with them had I known they were actually a three star property.
Second, they call themselves "The Boltons" implication being that they are near or in the Boltons. They are not. They are next door to the Earls Court Tube Station.
The prices I paid for my room were 4-star room prices, not 3 star prices. And in truth, everything about the hotel was 3 star.
My room was tiny. The double bed was jammed up against the wall on one side. With a suitcase on the suitcase rack in the small space between door and bed on the other side, it was not possible to open the door all the way. There is no fridge in the room or minibar. The TV was small. The internet service, though free, was of very poor quality--weak signal, slow, and many dropouts.
Front desk "service" is non-existent. The bathroom was small and not functional…there was no counter space to speak of to put toiletries, so they either went on the loo lid or under the avant-garde round sink bowl. The quality of room cleaning was the only positive, as the cleaning staff did a pretty good job, though the room's general cleanliness was not perfect, this was more that some of the installations were less than pristine.
Overall, for the money, the hotel was very poor value indeed. For the apparent dishonesty in their star rating, I see a deliberate attempt to mislead consumers. Avoid this place. less
