I didn't have a bad experience overall at this property, but I have been to London many times, and I know lodgings are cramped, but at this hotel it's actually difficult to maneuver one large suitcase. The elevator only fits one person at a time. A purse and one or two shopping bags would work, but no more. It's that tight. The hallway also made it incredibly difficult for me to walk alongside my spinner luggage.
The rooms are also very tight, and oddly shaped depending on the location on each floor. However the beds seemed clean and everything provided worked as it should.
If you like your mattresses firm, then these beds are not for you. Not comfortable.
Could someone have cleaned the carpet? It was stained everywhere. I doubt it was ever vacuumed while I was there, and I was there for several days.
The best part was the bathroom, which was clearly upgraded compared to many other similar hotels I've stayed in. The sink however was hard to use because of the way the faucets were built in... so tasks like washing your face become a bit of a hassle. You'll make a mess.
There isn't really any housekeeping staff past the afternoon hours, and the person who staffs the front desk has to run up and bring supplies if you need them.
The full English breakfast was great and plentiful. Staff was very friendly. I think they really adjusted the breakfast service after all the negative reviews that came in over the past year, because I had a very pleasant experience.
The tables accommodate couples, so this is not an easy place to eat at if you have a family. In fact I would not suggest this property at all if you have a family.
Try to get a room on the top floor, so you can actually sleep at night. You'll still hear doors being slammed shut along the hallway, but almost all similar hotels have no soundproofing.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: You won't be able to check in until 2pm. You won't get a room even if you show up at 1:30pm. It has to be 2pm. They're very strict about this and it's incredibly inconvenient when you've come off an early morning flight.
Wifi is fine. Can be quite spotty at times, but it does the job for email and a few minutes on social media.
Location is excellent. That whole area has restaurants and shops and grocery stores and the Earl's Court Underground, which is a two minute walk from the hotel. less
