Now onto the NEGATIVE(s)...We booked the hotel via Best Western in July and the reason for the stay was to celebrate a Wedding Anniversary. I asked if the hotel could do anything and it was suggested a room upgrade or generally something nice. This was never adhered to or even mentioned. I had written proof of this and the receptionist wasn't bothered.
As we walked up the stairs nearly everyone had brown tape on them due them being that threadbare. Our room was 205 and when we first entered I thought I had got the broom cupboard. The room was very small and that small we only had one bedside table as the bed was pushed up against the wall. The wardrobe door wouldn't open properly due to the main door mechanism. To walk around the remaining side of the bed you had to sidestep due to it being that close to the desk.
When we went down for breakfast and were asked what room we where in I jokingly said, "The broom cupboard on the second floor" The girl then said, "That will be room 205 then!!"
Breakfast is served in a very small room and the food is very cold and not much of a selection.
After a call to Best Western we were moved to another room on our second night which was a lot bigger and we had no complaints with that room.
The staff on reception are very ignorant, they never smile and never acknowledge people, they never even Thanked us as we left. less
