Having read many reviews, we decided to opt for this hotel, our first visit to Jersey also. Location is ok, away from centre about 10 minutes walk, no problems with that. Checked in ok, given room at top overlooking main red - some traffic noise obviously, but nothing major, out during day and traffic eased off during evening, so we had no issues there. Free wi-fi, well this was really hit and miss. Spoke with reception, they sorted it. Still very sporadic, ok down in reception, but our room no, problems all week. Usual breakfast selection, the cooked food was only just warm, same everyday. We were not the only people to have noticed. The croissants were delicious though. Staff throughout all pleasant and polite.
Lovely sun terrace out the rear of the hotel, access from 1st floor. A real sun trap! The bar served nice looking bar meals, appeared quite busy the evenings we went in for a drink before heading out. The lift made us laugh, every time when reaching the desired floor, coming to a stop would always be a bumpy landing! Quirky. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Jersey and at the hotel. Thank you. less

We are pleased that you liked our location and your stay at our BEST WESTERN Royal Hotel. Thank you. Many guests like the fact that we are a few minutes walk away from the main shopping areas and of course we are almost alongside the new Millennium Town Park, a popular facility within St. Helier.
Our passenger lift is a modern OTIS lift and is fully maintained under an annual maintenance contract with OTIS. It is a quality lift unit from a leading worldwide branded supplier. I hope that this information helps.
Likewise, we are in the process now of updating our WiFi to a fully maintained Cisco network. This is another major upgrade for the hotel allowing fully load balanced usage on an unlimited number of devices per bedroom and in public areas. The service provided will be free of charge to all guests. The new leading brand system is already established and tested within another of our hotels and has provided a highly resilient WiFi coverage platform for guests. It is a major investment for us and should overcome any issues you identified.
