We were disappointed with the first room we were given and waited 4 hours for the manager to come on duty. He moved us to a different room, was efficient and charming. We had requested a twin room but both times were given a family room with a double and a single bed. The room was very old fashioned in both decor and furnishings. The shower often went to cold water if someone in another room switched theirs on. There were no toiletries to speak of - 2 tiny bottles of shampoo and 3 small tablets of chinese soap! But the bathroom was sqeaky clean.
For some reason on 5 out of 7 days our beds, especially the double bed, was made up in a most untidy way with the (not very clean) top cover doubled over at the top and leaving great gaps at the bottom. There was a chunk of wood sticking out at the bottom of the double bed and the dark green valance was always crooked. However, the beds were actually very comfortable and the bedclothes themselves were spotless.
We found the staff to be friendly, hard working, efficient and welcoming - except one waitress in the dining room who placed the cutlery wrong and leaned over me to remove a side plate just as I was about to put food in my mouth!!
Probably the chambermaid and this waitress need more training.
We enjoyed our stay in Jersey but if we come again we would stay in a hotel much nearer St. Helier. less
