We decided to go for a cheap night away in Brighton. We found a lot of the hotels in central Brighton charged a premium and then there was a parking cost as well.
We then came across the Princes Marine Hotel in Hove, a 30 minute walk along the seafront. This suited us perfectly as we enjoy a walk along the seafront and the hotel also has some limited spaces available for parking as well.
We arrived slightly before our 2 o’clock check in and squeezed into the back car park where there was a couple of spaces left. (this really was a squeeze and the drive to get into the carpark gets very very tight so be warned)
We then checked in and got directions to our room, we were very happy with our Sea View and although building work was going on above us on level 5 this stopped mid afternoon and did not cause us a problem. They do not work at the weekend so the morning was not an issue either.
The Sea View Room gives you a birds eye view of the sea front and green in front, and we enjoyed a drink while people watching from our room. The room itself was quite big, the bed was a large comfy double and the bathroom nicely decorated with a shower over bath set up (although not movable) The room seemed quite modern in decoration and we were very happy with the price we paid for this.
We then heading out for the rest of the day and evening, coming back late is no problem at the hotel as you can use your hotel room swipe card to get in when the front door is locked.
We had a great time out and the 30 minute walk into Brighton was very nice, something we will definetly consider doing again when we visit Brighton. On our return it was not to much of a walk either and there are some shops a few minutes away if you wish to pick up some nibbles or your room afterwards.
We had a nice sleep and refreshing wash before we headed down to breakfast, they had the usual fresh juices, fruits like grapefruit and manderines, pastries and cereals all out and ready for you to select and take back to your table as well as some meats and cheeses and whole fruit like apples. The kind staff then took our hot drinks order, supplied us with some toast and then we ordered our hot breakfast, eggs cooked any way, a full English breakfast, kippers or a selection of what you wish. This was all very tasty and cooked as requested. The produce seemed local to me and im sure I have read this somewhere.
After this good breakfast we were all set for the day and left very happy with our overnight stay, check out was very easy.
An enjoyable stay. less
