We had a 4 day break in Hove, primarily to watch some cricket at the Sussex County Ground. The hotel is in a great location, far enough away from the noise and bustle of Brighton but near enough to get there by bus, or a 40 ish minute walk. It's only a 5 minute walk to the shops, bars and restaurants of Hove and it's across the road from the sea.
The building is a very 60s block and is being upgraded to have some rooms with on the 5th floor. The building works were suspended for the bank holiday weekend but when they re-started on the Tuesday were not at all disruptive or noisy, even thought there was scaffolding outside our window. We were in room 34, right by the lift, but again we were not disturbed by any noise from the lift. Our room was a good size, with a tilt and turn window. The only thing which might unnerve some guests was the rather overloaded electric socket. The staff were all very helpful: our TV needed re-tuning and was attended to within 3 minutes of my contacting reception. There was a good choice of breakfast menu, served promptly and with a smile. I would recommend this hotel if you want to be in Hove, a quieter area than Brighton. The bar meal we had was good quality with good service. less
