Booked two rooms at this hotel for a couple of nights at the end of January 2017. We were visiting Brighton for our daughter's graduation ceremony.
We travelled over 200 miles to reach the hotel and arrived too late on the first day to really fancy looking for somewhere else to get an evening meal. So we ended up, by default, in the hotel bar and chose three meals from the bar menu (there's also a restaurant area, but we thought the bar looked comfortable and welcoming). The meals were reasonably priced and surprisingly good! Portions were generous and the meals were hearty. I had a large glass of the house red, which was smooth, mellow and not expensive. So we ended up satisfied and happy with our food and drink.
Our rooms were on the same floor. Both rooms were large and comfortable. The furniture was a little old-fashioned perhaps, but there was nothing old-fashioned about the large, flat screen tv. The bathrooms were immaculately clean, and the showers were powerful and easy to use.
Breakfast was good. The continental buffet was self-service, but the cooked breakfast options were ordered from a menu. Again, the cooked breakfasts were well-presented, generous, and really good - we were impressed with the chef.
There's a small, free, parking area to the rear of the hotel. We have a wide car and it was a squeeze to get through the narrow entry to the car park. Parking is on a first come, first served basis, but we were able to park on both days (it was out of season, though).
Overall, I thought this a good hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were fine, and the food really good. When I consider what we paid for our stay, it was exceptional value for money. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. less
