I had three nights to kill between jobs, and Durango, CO was between the two locations. I needed a quiet place to regroup, recharge, and chill out. Super happy I found the Rio Grande Inn. It's at the end of a dead end street, so there's no street noise. It's super quiet and I can't overstate how much that means to me.
I know these are tough times with Covid restrictions and all, but this hotel has done a fine job accommodating. The dining room is closed, but there's a quick, hearty take out breakfast in the lobby.
The hot tub was bubbly clean and perfectly hot.
And something else you hardly ever see at hotels these days: washing machines that are complimentary. No coins needed! Nice, clean, front-loading machines (although one of them was out of order).
It's two blocks from Main Street, easy walking distance to lots of restaurants. (Or at least there will be in non-Covid times.)
I was super happy with my stay. less
