There are easy, lucky cities and countries, and difficult ones. Bangladesh is the Malthusian victim of overpopulation, limited resources, and climate change. Dhaka is where millions of people have settled in recent years, fleeing problems all over the country. The city is crowded and polluted. Movement in the streets, on foot or in some kind of conveyance (there are supposed to be some 400,000 rickshaws) is not easy, and traffic frequently locks in stationary mode for some time. This hotel is a jewel. Well run, it is a haven from the maelstrom outside. Yes, it is expensive for a developing country, but it is worth every penny to have a clean, quiet room in a hotel with good restaurants, a small fitness centre, and good staff. And, it is near the airport. less
