You only provide your credit card details to Booking.com from where we took a pre-authorization (which is not a payment, but a guarantee in case of cancellation and/or no-show). This amount is only held in your account and will be automatically released within 7-10 days. And then upon check-in we do take a payment. I hope that clarified your concern.
