Good location and friendly service

Dear Jordan B, thank you for sharing your thoughts on your most recent stay at our hotel with free WIFI in downtown Quebec City. First, as do all hotel representing our chain, we offer a free high-speed WIFI connection to all our customers, which should definitely be fast enough to play most video games. If it isn’t, we do have an even faster connection available at the cost of 4.95$ plus taxes for 24 hours that is not only ensures a continued, fast connection but also allows for a higher amount of upload and download data per connection. On top of this feature, many other high-quality items are present in all our room such as 40” HDTV with a varied selection of bilingual channels, Keurig coffee makers with free supply of coffee whether regular decaf or even green tea, Danby Mini-refrigerators and others amenities that answers to the very needs of the modern traveler. As for the size of our rooms, they do vary a bit but are all capable of comfortably accommodate up to 2 adults and a child I their one king bed configuration, if we add a cot of course, with our rooms with two queen size beds being able to easily fit up to 4 adults without breaking a sweat. Same goes for bathroom, although I must admit that some of them may be a bit cramped and if you want to avoid ending-up in one of them, you may add a special request to your reservation to that effect. To conclude, well I think the only thing left is to thank you one last time for this review of your stay at our hotel with free WIFI in downtown Quebec City, hoping you will renew the experience on your next visit to our beautiful town. Best regards!

Nice hotel

19/06/2018 Melanie C, Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada

Dear Melanie C, thank you for commenting on your stay at our hotel within walking distance of Old Quebec City. After strolling for 15 minutes up Cote d’Abraham and Avenue Honoré-Mercier, you will find yourself right next to Quebec’s historical district, the Old Quebec and all the famous landmarks and activities that most tourists wish to discover while on their trip to our beautiful city. If ever walking uphill does not seem to be your preferred cup of tea, city busses are one of the alternative that would bring you right atop the hill without much effort, as many routes like #801 and #800 passes roughly every 7 minutes between each other and have stops just a block away from our property. Guided bus tours are also available whether with pick-up straight from our main lobby or with one of the twelve stops of the “hop-on Hop-off” tour that is just a few meters from our front entrance. The later allows you to have an overview of the many attractions and landmarks of our UNESCO’s World Heritage Site to decide which one you would like to further explore, while giving you the opportunity to go on and off the bus at those 12 stops for an entire day. Then, I would like to mention that, although it is true that our establishment is not brand new, we recently ended renovations on the vast majority of our 177 rooms, with only 1/3 of them still to be remodeled with new carpet and new tapestry to match the new décor of the other 2/3. Not only these upgrades gave our accommodations a fresher look, but it was the opportunity for us to adapt their style to the new trends, while keeping its classic and welcoming look we cherish. So with all that said, thank you once more for this review of your stay at our hotel within walking distance of Old Quebec City, looking forward to welcome you back on your next visit. Best regards!

Quebec City Trip

18/06/2018 Ted S, Wilbraham, Massachusetts

Dear Ted S, it is with great pride that I am acknowledging this lauding review of your stay at our quiet hotel in downtown Quebec City. To begin, it is true that we are at a safe distance from any major road in Quebec City with Rue de la Couronne being the busiest road adjacent to our property, while we are not that far from majors highways or boulevard like Autoroute Laurentienne and Autoroute/Boulevard Charest. The latter will is the continuation of highway 40 east that ends right next to Montmorency Waterfall and the bridge to Ile d’Orléans. The former starts as highway 175 at the Quebec’s bridge, becomes Boulevard Laurier then Grande-Allée at the heart of the historical district, then Avenue Honoré-Mercier in front of the Quebec’s parliament to continue as Rue de la Couronne past Cote d’Abraham then turning back to a major road heading north. As for the Hop On/hop Off bus tours you reffered to, it does represent the best way to get an overlook of every touristic spots in Quebec City while having the opportunity to embark and disembark at one of the twelve stops spread around town, including one as you mentioned just a corner block away from us. You may inquire about the details of this tour, as well as the many others that have pick-up right form our main lobby with our knowledgeable and caring front office employee as they will be able to best guide you in making the right choice and help you confirm the reservation. So then, once again thank you for this great review of your stay at our quiet hotel in downtown Quebec City, hoping you will be back among us on your next visit to Quebec City. Best regards

Dear Randy M, we are really grateful that you took the time to share your opinion of our pet friendly hotel in downtown Quebec City with the entire Tripadvisor community. On that particular topic, every information you provide is accurate, but for the one regarding the “concrete jungle”, as you may find plenty of green spaces within a few blocks of our property, including a park reserved for dogs just a few minutes walking from our front entrance. Then, on top of the several bakeries on Saint-Joseph Street, you will also find great eateries with eclectic menus created by a new generation of talented and passionate chefs that have contributed to the creation of a new culinary trend. Establishments such as L’affaire est Ketchup, Le Café du Cloché Penché, Patente et Machins, Just to name a few are all part of this revolution and are all within a few steps of our hotel. Same can be said of the Old Quebec City, which as you also noted in your review can be accessed via Cote d’Abraham up to Place D’Youville. From there, you will have easy access to Old Quebec City and all its famous touristic landmarks such as the Battlefield Park on Plains of Abraham, the Citadel, Parliament Hill, Chateau Frontenac and the old port as well as tons of other features of our UNESCO’s World Heritage Site. To conclude, well I would just like to thank you once last time for this quit useful review of your stay at our hotel in downtown Quebec City, looking forward to welcome you back on your next visit. Best regards!

Decent location but staff needs help

Dear RaywL, thank you for your comments. ON behalf of all our employees, I would like to present you with our most sincere apologies for not having provided you with the high-quality experience you deserved as one of our valued customers. At first, I must admit that I am shocked that you thought our staff could use some help, as the vast majority of Tripadvisor contributors who raised that topics in their review were praising their friendly and professional attitude. Not that I am saying that the situation you describe in your comment cannot happen, but I am stating with confidence that such unwelcoming behavior, not to greet visitors entering our establishment, is a really rare occurrence and totally opposite to our policies regarding guests relation. Same for the issue you describe with housekeeping personnel. Linens should be changed every 3 days unless otherwise instructed by the occupying guest, which can indeed be indicated by leaving the card to that effect on the bed. We do apologize that it was not done and have since been doing proper follow-up with housekeeping staff to make sure that such demands are met. To conclude on a more positive note, I am glad that you mentioned our proximity to the Old Quebec and gave precise information about the time it takes to walk (15 minutes uphill) to Saint-John’s gate, the main gateway through the fortifications. But to reach the shores of the Saint-Lawrence River and the Old Port, it is more of a 30 minute walk but on the flat. Starting from Saint-Joseph Street, the main artery of Quartier Nouvo Saint-Roch just a block south of our location, you will head east toward Gare Du Palais, the main train and bus station in Quebec City, on your way to Marché du Vieux Port, the public market where you can buy local product directly from the producers. Just a bit after that you will reach the Old Port and Quartier Petit Champlain, the oldest part of the city that hosts the Funicular, the scenic elevator that will get you atop Cap Diamant right next to Chateau Frontenac. So once again, thank you for your comments, truly hoping you will give us a chance to prove to you that we are worth the reputation we have as a welcoming establishment by staying with us again in the future. Best regards!
