Dear Barbara, thank you for filing such a thorough account of your experience at our comfortable hotel in downtown Quebec City. First and foremost, I would like to apologize for the inconveniences that seem to have plagued your arrival at our establishment. Although it is true that each start of the summer season brings new personnel to be trained, training at our property is very extensive and carefully executed, so I doubt this was the reason for the confusion at your arrival. I would say this has more to do with the major computer meltdown we were dealing with during that period, which is now resolved after huge efforts from every single member of our team to reduce the impact of such extreme circumstances on our visitors. But then, we do agree that the issues you mention in your review could have been better handled and we are sorry it diminished the quality of your stay. Hopefully, the comfortable beds, all composed of natural memory foam mattresses that we wrap in a deluxe, silky triple sheets linen, the towels and the quality of the food served at our restaurant, Bistro le 330, made up for the less pleasant side of your trip. We hope that you will be back at our comfortable hotel in downtown Quebec City so we can offer you the high-quality experience you sought and for which we are known to provide our customers. As many Tripadvisor contributors also mentioned in previous review, we do benefit from an ideal location in Quartier Nouvo Saint-Roch, THE new trendy area in Quebec, still unknown to most visitors and just a few minute walking from the main touristic district of Old Quebec. Within just a few blocks from our front entrance you will find plenty of exotic and original shops, bars, pubs, microbreweries, show venues and theatres, all contributing to the lively and young atmosphere that surrounds our neighborhood. Names like Macfly – Bar Arcade, a bar that recreates the ambiance of those gaming room so popular in the 80’s, Fanamanga, the Japanese-themed boutique and café as well as La Revanche, where you can play more than 500 board games, all contribute to the uniqueness of our area. Of course, it wouldn’t be as complete without the many restaurants, mostly owned and operated by a new generation of chefs that created original menus from local products and modern techniques. Café du Clocher Penché, L’affaire est Ketchup, Patente et Machin, Les Sales Gosses and many more have actually contribute to the emergence of a new culinary trend you won’t find anywhere else on planet earth. You want to know more? Our knowledgeable front office personnel are capable of recommending the establishment that will best fit your appetite, even arranging for reservation after you decide which one to try on a given day. Well then, I think the only thing left to say is simply thank you once again for this great review of your stay at our well-located hotel in downtown Quebec City, hoping to see you again on your next trip to our lovely corner of Europe in America. First and foremost, we would like to apologize for the situation you describe with the payment of your final bill. We do accept our responsibility in failing to solve this issue efficiently and with as less hassle for you as possible. Unfortunately, as I am not able to locate your reservation with the few details I have with your Tripadvisor ID, I must ask you to contact me directly at jpgagne@hotelquebec.com so I can address the issues that have already caused you enough trouble as is. I do fully understand that this is not the first time you are asked to contact us for something that we are responsible for and I sincerely apologize for having to ask again, but I can assure you that I will treat your situation with the highest of priority and will work closely and promptly with every department involved to solve it to your full satisfaction. Then, I would like to point out that our staff here at Best Western PLUS City Center are known for their kind and caring attitude, as per the many reviews you can see on this very website, although I do not put any doubt on the fact that a member of our staff may have seemed rude while handling this situation. We are particularly concerned that you were asked 4 times to contact us again to have this matter addressed and I would like to reaffirm my full commitment to help you solve this issue as soon as possible. To conclude, although this does not excuse in any way that your particular situation was handled so badly, we recently experienced a major computer shutdown that greatly impacted our daily operation. That extensive malfunction is now getting solved progressively and our daily interaction with our customers are back to normal.
