Winter Getaway In Old Quebec

Dear MustangFun, on behalf of our entire staff here at Best western PLUS City Centre Quebec, I would like to express my gratitude for publishing such a complete and accurate account of your recent visit at our property. Inputs like these are not only vital in our success as an host, but they also help other Tripadvisor users in choosing the right hotel with free internet in downtown Quebec City. To begin, I must admit that there not much I can add to your comment, as it is so thorough and precise, but there are some precisions I would like to bring. First, it is true that it is a 15 minutes uphill walk to the walls of the old city, but taxi is only one of the alternative available to visitors. An alternative route through Quartier Saint-Roch towards the Old Port and the bus/train Station Gare du Palais that will lead you to the oldes part of town, Quartier Petit Champlain is actually my favorite way to reach Old Quebec by foot. Another means of transportation beside a cab would be the city bus system, with several bus routes passing just a stone throw away from our doors that will drop you just next to the fortification’s main gate, Saint-John’s gate. Second, I am sorry that the touristic guide we provided you misled you to the wrong location for the Ice Hotel, which was moved this year from the old zoo to the Village vacances Valcartier. We did notify all our front desk agents of that situation, and asked them to warn guests of that error when they hand-it over to them. Last but not least, I am proud that you always felt welcome when in contact with the “locals” on your visit to Quebec City, as we do are known for our friendly attitude towards visitors. As for the language barrier, we do have bilingual staff available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in order to provide great service to our multi-cultural clientele, with some of our employees been fluent in other languages like Spanish, Portuguese and several others, as we do employ people from various part of the world. So then, once again, a warm thank you for this excellent review of your experience with us, and we will be honored to welcome you again on your next visit to Quebec City in early falls. Best regards, Jean-Pierre Gagné – Hospitality and Guest Experience Manager

Affordable and Dog Friendly

Dear Exstayc, on behalf of all our employees here at Best western PLUS City Centre Quebec City, I would like to express my gratitude for this complete and accurate account of your recent experience at Best Western PLUS City Centre Quebec. Information you provide will surely help other Tripadvisor users who are looking for hotels in centre Quebec City. First, concerning your comment on the distance to the old city, I must say that I am a bit surprised that you felt our location would not be suitable for less active person, as there are many path you can follow in order to reach the upper part of town where most of the attractions are located. Actually, my favorite way to reach the historical part is to go around the cliff through Saint-Joseph Street via the old port. On your way, you will come across many restaurants and boutiques, the train and bus station Gare du Palais, the Old Port Market where you can grab some of the best local products you may find, on your way to Quartier Petit-Champlain, the oldest part of town. From there the Funicular, the scenic elevator, will bring you up to the Chateau Frontenac on top of the hill. If that still seems a bit too much, city busses that passes right next to our hotel will bring you without any efforts to the gates of the old town. With all that said, I would like to thank you again for taking some time to share your thoughts on your recent visit to our hotel in downtown Quebec City, and we hope you will join us again on your next visit to Beautiful Quebec City, l’Accent d’Amérique. Dear earthflyers, we are grateful that you took some time in order to share with us and the whole TripAdvisor community your thoughts on your recent visit to our establishment. Your inputs are very valuable to us as they shed light on aspects we might want to improve in order to continue to offer a high-end hotel in downtown Quebec City. To begin, I would like to apologize for the way you were given instructions on how to get to the public parking by our employees. They do have all the tools in order to answer every questions you may have, especially one that is so often asked, and I have already made sure that they are reminded that it is our policy to assist every costumers to the best of their knowledge. One more detail; parking on the nearby streets is possible, although we do not recommend it mainly due to the fact that all signage are in French and also, as you accurately mentioned, street parking is prohibited during snow removal operations, even sometimes few day after the storm. Otherwise, I am happy that you do mention, despite the above mention mishap, that our front desk staff were reactive to your demand, which is a feature we always try to emphasize. Our bilingual front desk agents’ knowledge will come in handy not only for questions or demands regarding our property’s services and amenities, but they will be more than happy to assist you in arranging plans for dinner for example, book a guided bus tour of the city, or even enlighten your choice of activities to do in Quebec City by giving detailed information on the most popular or the more hidden one. Then, to conclude, I would like to thank you again for this thorough comment on your experience at Best western PLUS City Centre, wishing you will be joining us again on your next Quebec City adventure. Best regards, Jean-Pierre Gagne – Hospitality and Guest Service Manager
