Updated - I want folks here to know that the hotel manager did contact me to discuss the noise issue and took feedback for future improvements that they can make. Also, sent a gift card as a token for the matter. Like I said in the initial review - the staff at this hotel is superb!
We had room 302, facing Johnson St - a nice sized room with 2 double beds, a separate seating area with a sofa bed and a small kitchen with a full sized fridge, stove with oven and microwave as well as dishes and utensils.
Hotel staff is superb and very helpful.
Got about 1 hr of sleep, if that! Hotel is at corner of Douglas and Johnson streets, high traffic area. There is a stop light at this corner, as well as a bus stop in front, the traffic noise is from cars/buses revving up as they pull off when the light turns green - a LOT noisier than a constant drone. Also, lots of bars and restaurants in the area, so we heard people talking in the streets outside all the time. And when the bars let out, we heard people singing/yelling out in the streets from about mid-night to 3:00 am.
Don't know if they have any rooms not facing the streets, perhaps those would be less noisy. less
