This hotel is in a great location in the centre of town with a Wetherspoon’s very close by. We stayed at the hotel for a week and had adjoining rooms which were clean and comfortable. The hotel itself was very nice and the garden area, whether drinking a cup of coffee and reading the paper in the morning or sitting with a glass of wine in the evening was very welcome. From the moment we arrived we found the reception staff friendly, informative and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We made use of the excellent pool everyday which was never crowded and one time we had it to ourselves. However what let the whole experience down was the breakfast. Every day we had to ask for something, either there were no glasses, no bowls, no plates for the toast or no spoons. The first day there was no butter only Flora on offer which none of us liked. On asking if we could have some butter, we were told they had run out. There were only three days out of our seven day stay that there were flavoured yogurts (again we were told they had run out and were waiting for a delivery), and for two of those days we had to ask if there were any flavoured ones. The fruit on offer was all tinned and hit and miss as to what you would get, one day grapefruit segments, then another day peach halves with pineapple rings, then sliced peaches another day. The fresh fruit was very sparse, grapes for three days, then nothing for a couple of days and then an orange. It wasn’t as if we were ever late down to breakfast as we were always there by nine o’clock and never more than two or three tables occupied. We asked for loose sugar one morning to put on the cereal as there were only sugar lumps on the table and we were told by the breakfast staff and also the barman that they don’t have loose sugar. We said that we had packets in our room and we were told, “Well, we don’t have it in the restaurant or bar you’ll have to get it from your room”. We did just that bringing packets from our room each day. Later in the week a sugar dispenser with loose sugar appeared by the drink’s machine. It was not all bad though as the cooked breakfast was fine. However, we were very disappointed with the whole breakfast experience, the first time ever with a Best Western. less

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback on your recent stay with us, I am sorry that your experience at breakfast let the rest of your stay down.
What you have described is not the standard that has been set by the management team at the hotel and I am very disappointed that this was the service level that you received. I have passed your comments onto the operational management team for breakfast for their comments and immediate address.
Please accept my sincere apologies that your stay was marred by your breakfast experience. I hope you will consider using us again in the future to provide us the opportunity to provide you with a superior experience.
