I want a refund of my smoking fee. We stayed on 12/22 in room 101 and supposedly there were 2 cigarette butts out the window, but nothing in the room. You claim there is a law that says one can't smoke within 8 feet of a building, but it's 8 ft from a public entrance and you have a trash can with an ash tray 4 ft from the side door by 101. We aren't smokers and your proof doesn't show any smoking in our room. Your proof is butts laying outside and our room number! You're understanding of the law is wrong and you're in violation by having a trash can with an ash tray so close to your public entrance. We had to walk passed smokers to get into the building. I have contacted corporate and will get my refund. We didn't smoke in the room, in the yard, anywhere! The folks across the hall from us smoked because they were thre ones we walked past, it could've been them! This is wrong that you charged us at 2am while we were sleeping and didn't come into our room to verify!! This will also go to the better business bureau and news stations that this is how you run your business. It's wrong to do while people are there and can't prove to you that our room was clean! less

Thank you for sharing your feedback on your recent stay with us. I truly apologize for having to charge for a smoking fee. We have no intention to fraudulently charge any guest for any matter. The non-smoking policy was disclosed at the time of check-in as well. It was very disappointing to witness the smell of the smoke coming out in the hallway from the bottom of the door at middle of the night. The smell was not only limited to the room occupied but it had penetrated out in the corridor as well. Further, next morning right after you checked out, the room was found with heavy smoke smell and cigarette butts right outside of the room window. I can assure you that we aim to provide the best in class service and had no intention to provide you with less than a superior stay but because of the severity of the issue, we had to pursue forward with charging the smoking fee. Guest satisfaction is of utmost importance to us and thus we have to ensure our facility remains smoke-free. Once again, we apologize for your discomfort and regret that you left with an unpleasant experience.
