Owner/Manager Worst I ever Experienced at a Best Western

I checked in and presented the owner/manager who was working the front desk a Best Western Gift Card. He refused to even look at it and said I had to use the card when I made the reservation on-line. This was the 5th Best Western I had stayed at on this trip and I used a Best Western Gift Card at every one of them with NO issues or hassles at all. I went back and forth with this guy 3-4 times and each time he just pushed the paper with the gift card number on it back to me and refused to even look at it. The terms and conditions for BW Gift Cards state that you present them when you check in. I told this guy he would be reading about this and he could have cared less.
I then went to my room and called BW customer service and they stated that the hotel was obligated to take the card. I was transferred to another person in another area who actually called the hotel while I was on the phone on hold. They came back and said that the owner/manager told them that he was having an issue putting it in the computer which is an outright LIE. He never made any attempt to take it and never even looked at it, just kept pushing it back at me. I am a Platinum BW rewards club member so I have stayed at numerous Best Westerns. I told the person on the phone that the guy was lying to them and they said he would take it.
Within 5 minutes the phone was ringing and I went back to the lobby where the guy took the card and put it in the system. I wasted 30-40 minutes of my time because of this lying owner/manager who refused to honor Best Western gift cards and failed to abide by their policies.
Look at all the reviews concerning this guy on here and decide if you really want the hassle your going to have staying here. GO ELSEWHERE. less

Dear guest I am so sorry you had this experience. we have a brand new owner and due to covid 19 he has not gotten to go to the best western training and did not know about the gift card processing. he did call and consult with me I told him to check you in and I would take care of it in morning be fore you checked out. you where not ok with that nd wanted it done right then. So after he talked to best western and learned how to do it and about them he promptly took care of it for you im sorry you felt your time was wasted I would hope maybe next time you would have more understanding and patients for the workers. and as far as complaints on the owner and staff you see on here none of them are associated with this hotel any longer we have all new owner and employees
