This Best Western was okay in terms of accommodations, aside from the lumpy pillows. However, I was traveling with my dog for one night, so I specifically chose this hotel due to its promise of being pet-friendly. There were multiple other dogs staying in the same hallway as I was. I was located on the first floor, two doors down from the front desk. Around 4 a.m., my dog let out two barks when someone walked back and forth in front of our door and startled him awake. Five minutes later, I got a call (via the extremely loud and startling alarm-type ringer on the room phone) from the front desk informing me that the woman in the room across from mine had complained about my dog barking and asking me if my dog could be quiet. I think it was totally inappropriate for me to receive this call. My dog was not barking excessively (or at all, when I got the call). The front desk staff could have easily verified this, since my room was only a couple yards away. IMO, it's the responsibility of the front desk to appropriately balance the needs of their guests. I'm sorry that someone complained about two barks, but I was also a paying guest and in fact I paid extra to have my dog stay. I've stayed with him in multiple hotels and never had a single issue. I think a truly pet-friendly hotel wouldn't have woken me up at 4 a.m. to pass on an unverified complaint about my dog from another guest. The call and the 4 a.m. wakeup rattled me and really put a damper on my trip. I would not stay at this Best Western again, and if this is representative of their "pet-friendliness" then I wouldn't recommend any Best Western for fellow dog owners. Very disappointing. less
