Ok except for the Odor & FILTHY Carpet - Shame on the owner

When we checked into our room 116 we found that the room stunk horribly and was generally dirty all over. The carpet was buckled up and looked very dirty. The manager apologized and we settled on another less "used" room. First let me say that for room 123 our bed, linens, bath surround and sink were all good. The carpet looked less dirty and the room stank less and was pretty clean otherwise. We sprayed our room down with Lysol and hoped for the best. However, what we discovered that evening is that the source of the "dirty socks" odor was the filthy carpet. The proof - our FILTHY socks! The socks on the left are what my socks looked like before. (I had packed 3 pair for the trip)
How trip advisor gave this hotel a top "1st best" - or "3rd best" depending on the day - is way beyond my ability to understand. I hope to share this review with "Best Western" since this does not represent my own experience with this brand. In my opinion, since this is the beginning of this hotel's travel season - there is absolutely no excuse for this total disregard for the well being of their customers. less
