We had a very enjoyable two night weekend stay in a suite on the third floor of the hotel.
The suite was very spacious. It included a large bedroom with two windows on the side of the hotel, plus a separate seating area, along with a sizeable bathroom. The bed was king size, very comfortable and with high quality bedding and bed linen. There was ample storage, with two wardrobes, desk and chest of drawers, and an armchair. The seating area had a sofa, coffee table, armchair and desk, and had its own large TV screen. The bathroom had a full sized bath, a separate shower cubicle and ample really thick, fluffy white towels. The suite was very attractively decorated, in warm colours, and all the furniture was in excellent condition.
The hot breakfasts are cooked to order and included vegetarian options. The breakfast service was excellent and the food was fresh and good quality. We also dined in the evening in the Library Bar which had a cosy atmosphere, and a good value menu.
The hotel is an attractive and well maintained building with lots of character and style. We stayed in the Summer, when the façade and terrace were filled with flowers.
Overall, definitely a hotel to recommend. One caution was the amount of noise at night from outside, although other hotels may face the same problem from outdoor drinkers on warm nights. less
