For me the staff at a hotel make (or mar) the visit. I cannot really speak too highly of the the service we received during the short break. We will certainly be back. Walking around St Peter port I tripped on the pavement and was rather immobile for 36 hours. Everyone was most considerate and helpful, asking how I was getting on. Thankfully it was only temporary but you do remember the kindness shown.
The fact that it is a conversion from a town house means that the rooms are not all the same and some have better views than others, but that is the price you pay for staying in this sort of hotel. I put my head round the door of the health suite and it looked well equipped and maintained.
We had breakfast and one dinner in the Conservatory restaurant, which had a good varied menu, well cooked and served. As in the rest of the hotel excellent service.
I preferred the Rendevous bar to the library but that was my preference.
Finally the little things. My wife reckoned it was the easiest shower to operate in any hotel she has visited. For me the little thing was breakfast coffee - excellent less

Thank you for taking the time to post such a positive and perceptive review. I am so pleased to see that our team looked after you so well, and am relieved to hear that after a couple of days you had recovered from your fall. You are so right in noting that the staff can make or mar a visit, and we will be sure to pass on your compliments to everyone concerned. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
