Assistant Manager lets the hotel down

We stayed for four nights as part of a group of 24. Our room (No 25 in the main building) was dated and shabby with rotten window frames, a malfunctioning bath plug and poorly-flushing loo. For some reason the cold water runs warm and the hot water is scalding.
Most of the hotel staff are very friendly though the Assistant Manager, Cathy, was deliberately difficult. On our fourth night she insisted on seeing our room card, despite the fact she knew who we were that all other members of staff had willingly taken drinks orders and charged them to the room by looking at our room keys over the past three evenings. The cleaning staff had reomoved our key card.
The kitchen cannot cope with a large group and it was a challenge every morning to see if they could have all the items on the hot buffet available at the same time: which they only managed one morning. The basic, but essential skill, of making a soft poached egg was not mastered until the final morning.
Dinner was adequate and perfect for those who like over-cooked vegetables and all their meat well done. less

Thank you for your recent review and I am sorry we did not meet your thoughts with the room allocated to you on this visit.
We received excellent feedback from the Group and my Assistant Manager, Courtney, was merely doing her job in asking to see your key card.
My kitchen brigade are very professional and proficient in serving the numerous weddings and other similar events, and we get excellent feedback. However, I am sorry we did not quite live up to your expectations.
I do hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back to Leigh Park again in the future.
