We have just spent two weeks staying at the Hotel Butterfly so feel well qualified to write a review. The ambience, comfort, central location, and superb food of the hotel really augmented our skiing holiday.
The hotel transport both met us at, and took us back, to the station. The ski room has heated boot dryers, adequate seating, and each room has two numbered racks for skis, avoiding the usual morning chaotic ski jenga. There are two working lifts. Our bedroom was spacious, with balcony & chairs, small desk, coffee table, sofa, excellent lighting, and adjustable radiator that we could turn off at night but heated the room quickly when we turned it back on in the morning. The beds were comfortable with large duvets, regular laundry changes and good reading lights. The bath wasn't huge, but the water hot and plentiful, with a drying line over it. A good sized basin, and the toiletries and paper tissues were replenished when needed. Best of all was plenty of storage/hanging space, and a small lobby to hang jackets, helmets etc.
The food is plentiful: breakfasts with fruit salads, yoghurts, muesli, ham, cheese and cooked options. TEA, wow, we weren't expecting that.....a wonderful choice of home made buns, flans, patisseries plus fresh fruit. Dinner was equally good, with some interesting starters, a large choice of salads, soup, main course with a vegetarian option and pudding.
However, what made our stay was the attitude of the staff. It would be unfair to single out anyone, especially as we rarely saw the girls who kept our room spotless, and had to no need to complain so had little contact with the front desk! The bar and dining room staff were quite amazing, smiling, friendly, efficient, and we shook many hands to say goodbye when we left.
Frank, you run an excellent establishment, many congratulations. less
