The room was fine - rather warm, but that seems to be a "thing" in Germany. Bit of a trot to get to it, especially with luggage. Down a lift, through the breakfast room, four or five sets of doors, past the left luggage lockers, up another lift, through another set of doors... Keeps you fit though.
Staff were helpful enough. The breakfast wasn't cheap so we swerved that, and ate locally instead. The bar was a couple of seats in the lobby, better than nothing I guess, especially as there seemed to be no other hostelries that nearby. We used the Irish pub on Leipziger Strasse, about ten minutes away. Couldn't find a German bar open at night.
Very close to Spittelmarkt U-Bahn, but the end of the platform with the lift is furthest away, and it was a bit of a dark walk when we arrived late at night (thanks to TAP airlines...). Other than getting to and from the hotel we walked everywhere, plenty within twenty minutes trot, and a couple of nice restaurants nearby (try the Italian next to the Irish pub - Fontana di Trevi) sadly the German one we really wanted to try (Spaetzle Club) was shut and showed no sign of if or when it intended to open again.
Tea and coffee were free, as was the room safe. The wifi problems others mention seemed to have been solved as our connection, whilst not perfect, wasn't bad at all.
Staff were fine, although the guy who checked us in might have mentioned the yomp to the room and suggested we use a luggage trolley when he saw our four suitcases?
I would stay again. less
