Great service from front desk, they do a nice job, have a solid attitude. Good location, in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn, which is a nice area with plenty of things close by-shopping, restaurants, subway access, etc. Hotel is aging, and in need of renovations. The rooms are fine, but all the systems are old and in need of a major upgrade. Breakfast is OK, doesn't have as many options as other hotels but is adequate. I had valet parking and service was fine. Staff is trying to do their best, and it's not their fault that the hotel needs some major upgrading. It appears there were some modifications to the interior, but what it needs is more renovation, and an investment to bring everything up to date so they can compete with other hotels. While sitting in the room during the day or trying to sleep at night there are all sorts of creaks and noises coming from the walls, the furniture etc. Not sure why, could be the systems are old-pipes, walls etc. The Gregory Hotel does not have a fitness center, but with your key you can walk a block over to the Dolphin Fitness, and for a $5 fee you can use their gym which is open 24 hours. A nice touch would be to provide a free voucher for this, since I can't remember a hotel I've stayed at on the past 10 years that doesn't have a fitness center. This is another item which they need to invest in. In summary, hotel is adequate. less

Thank you for sharing your experience with fellow trip advisor readers. We appreciate the feedback you provided us. Thank you for acknowledging my staff for their friendly service. The surrounding neighborhood is a great source for shopping, great restaurants and easy subway access. Sorry you felt the condition of the hotel was not upgraded enough. We have remodeled the entire hotel which included removing old bathtubs and replacing them with modern shower stalls, reconfigured the lobby plus updated all our meeting rooms. This hotel has been in operation since 1926 so like any 90 year old there may be a few imperfections, yet we feel we can hold our own against any other mid-scale hotel brand in Brooklyn with the work we have done.
