Was visiting Norwich for the first time for some years when previously stayed at the hotels of the major chains.
Having perused all the reviews on the St George for the previous two months, decided that staying there would satisfy our requirements for three nights and we were not disappointed.
From the initial contact for the booking and throughout the stay, the staff of this hotel could not do enough for us and always with a smile, we felt very welcome.
We stayed in room 211, which was large, comfortable and well presented. Cannot understand the previous comment about this room which stated that it needed refurbishment, certainly not our experience. The hotel was very clean throughout.
Plenty of clean towels,(replaced every day), good selection of shampoo, soap, bath and shower gel etc. The room has a Jacuzzi bath, most relaxing and also a walk in shower.
Overall very good facilities were provided.
The restaurant was small but not to such an extent that it provided problems, Indeed on two nights of our visit they were fully booked and with the restaurant menu and lounge menu we did not see a problem with its size. The food was also very good, well presented and provided a choice that would have satisfied all diners. Breakfast has a very good selection of both continental and full English, so all tastes can be satisfied.
If you couple all these points, with free on-site parking, a very regular and frequent bus service to Norwich and other major cities in the area, within 2 mins walk and Norwich city centre is 10 mins walk from the hotel, what more could be wanted.
We shall be returning to this hotel without any concerns or reservations for our next visit to the area. less
