It's fortunate then that there are so many local attractions to escape to. There was no way we wanted to spend a minute more than necessary in our blazing hot room. If you're travelling solo, forget the pool. It's only opened if you make a direct request, and solo swimmers are not permitted, nor are unsupervised children under 16.
The staff were mostly very young and a bit clueless. The overall impression was that the hotel ran for the convenience of the management, not the guests. With a hot summer ahead, they really need to stock up on portable air-conditioning units.
On the plus side, the room was clean, the bed comfortable and the bathroom spotless. The shower worked well, and if we'd wanted hot water, there seemed to be enough. Breakfast was generous and with a wide choice of items. less

I’m appalled that you experienced 25 degrees, in July, during your holiday in Cornwall, it is a rare occurrence for the UK, and was broadly publicised through media channels, but I will do my best to ensure this never happens again, should you wish to return…
The safety of all our guests is paramount, so yes, we do have pool procedures, as do most Hotels.
My staff, who read our reviews on a weekly basis, are not clueless, we are very proud of our young & local staff; they are the ones that served and cooked you Breakfast, and left your room spotlessly clean…
