I visited best western colombo for a business stay I stayed like 12 days but at the time of checking out they put smoking charges and won't listen ...I have cleared bills every 2nd day and never they mentioned something like this .. knowing I was late for the flight they started acting rude and won't let me leave the premises.. would definitely file a lawsuit regarding the same . 2 people who had this masterplan without any proof is Chinthaka [--] executive chef and Arosh taking care of the reception. Look at their shameless faces while they did something like this. I had to pay else I would have lost my flight but never stay in this hotel everr less

We take this opportunity once more to remind you that we value all our guests and strive to provide a comfortable, healthier environment to live in when staying away from one’s home. Indeed as per the law of the land and our own standards and policies, the property is 100% nonsmoking and if you wish to indulge in any form of tobacco you must visit the open air terrace on our rooftop or step outside the building to an area where it is allowed to smoke.
During your stay, it is on record that the team including your room attendant, Floor Supervisor, Executive House keeper, The Front of House Manager, and 2 other Duty Managers have visited you to the room and advised you of our policy, and the Housekeeper showing you clearly the non-smoking notice which is in the room and the penalty for doing so. It is the length of your stay that saved you from being charged every time you settled your balances, however since you pointed this fact out we have now implemented to reverse this practice to its original state where the penalty would go in to effect for each violation and information that would be given by the team. We are indeed surprised and saddened to read that you have victimized the team in a public forum for carrying out their duty against someone who was endangering many other guests who trust to stay at Best Western Elyon Colombo for its cleaner and healthier environment.
